Val is a CPA with extensive experience in consultancy and advisory services. He is a member of the Association of Certified Public Accountants in Public Practice.

He was previously connected with Big 5 CPA Firms, where he served as an Audit Manager. He has completed units of Master in Business Administration in Ateneo Graduate School of Business. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy in 1995 from University of the East Caloocan.
